Increase in ridership in 2011
The recently published performance results show that the number of passengers using Moscow metro increased by 1.8 per cent in 2011 as compared to 2010.The figures peaked on December, 22 with the total of 9.270 thousand journeys made. The overall figures of December, 2011 are 3.6 per cent higher than in the corresponding month in 2010. |

Moscow Metro issues special New Year tickets
A series of 13 tickets in the form of New Year greeting cards will appear in all metro ticket offices on December 30, 2011. There will be a total of 1 million tickets featuring congratulations of Moscow Metro workers: train drivers, ticket officers, dispatchers etc. to passengers. |

Moscow Metro service on New Year’s Day and Christmas Eve
Moscow Metro will be open for passengers till 2 a.m. on the nights of December 31, 2011/January 1, 2012 and January 6/7, 2012. Lubyanka, Kitay-Gorod, Kuznetsky Most, Ploshchad’ Revolutsii, Okhotny Ryad, Teatral’naya, Chekhovskaya, Pushkinskaya, Tverskaya, Aleksandrovsky Sad, Borovitskaya, Mayakovskaya and Biblioteka Imeni Lenina stations could be exit and interchange only. |
