Although commissioning of new metro stations does not happen every year, Moscow metro continues developing. Much work is being done to prepare for future solemn inauguration ceremonies. Year 2004 witnessed inauguration of new metro premises: commissioning of the first stage of Vykhino junction, inauguration of pedestrian walkway beneath Varshavskoye highway at Ulitsa Akademika Yangelya station. Reconstruction of ticket hall and escalators renewal was carried out at Ploshchad’ Revolutsii station. September 2, 2005 – the second way out from Mayakovskaya station was opened for public use. September 10, 2005 – new section of Filyovskaya line from Kievskaya to Delovoy Tsentr was introduced into service. April 28, 2006 – Semyonovskaya station resumed operation earlier than scheduled. It was closed on May 15, 2005 to renew escalators that had been operating for over 50 years. August 30, 2006 – Mezhdunarodnaya station of Filyovskaya line was inaugurated. December 20, 2006 – Taganskaya ticket hall was opened after reconstruction which had started on November 18, 2005. May 15, 2007 – southern ticket hall of Mayakovskaya station was opened after reconstruction. The construction of Liublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line section between Chkalovskaya and Trubnaya stations was completed. August 30, 2007 – Trubnaya station came into passenger service. December 29, 2007 – Sretensky Bul'var station was opened for passengers. The introduction of this line section helped to improve transportation in the south-east of Moscow. The construction of line section between Trubnaya and Mar’ina Roshcha stations is under way. January 7, 2008 - Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line section between Park Pobedy and Strogino was opened for public use. Moscow metro continues old escalators replacement programme: September 3, 2007 - western vestibule of Arbatskaya station (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line) resumed operation. June 11, 2008 – escalators at Dobryninskaya station resumed service after renovation. November 28, 2008 – Electrozavodskaya station opened after reconstruction of escalators. September 25, 2009 – Kurskaya station vestibule (Circle line) opened for passengers. At the moment, reconstruction of Ploshchad Revolyutsii station eastern vestibule (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line) and modernization of escalators is carried out. The works will be completed by April 30, 2010. January 2, 2010 - the beginning of reconstruction of Oktyabrskaya station vestibule (Circle line). The works will be completed by November 30, 2010. September 7, 2008 – Slavyansky Bul'var station of Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line was inaugurated. December 26, 2009 – the construction of Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line section in Mitino district was completed. Myakinino, Volokolamskaya and Mitino stations opened for passenger service.
