New type of rolling stock inaugurated

The first train of 81-760/761 series appeared on Kalininskaya line on April 12, 2012. The ceremony of inauguration of the train was attended by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, Deputy Mayor on Transport Development and Road Construction Nikolay Lyamov, Head of the Department for Transport and Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov, Head of Moscow Metro Ivan Besedin, General Director of ZAO Transmashholding Andrey Andreev, reporters and honorary guests.

The new rolling stock features air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems, LCD display screens as well as a new UV system for air disinfection. The cars have dedicated space for the disabled; sliding plug doors can be controlled individually. The rolling stock features a new system of control, safety and technical diagnostics and a modernized system of CCTV with the images transferred to driver’s cab and to the OCC of Moscow Metro. The car body is made of stainless steel.

Moscow Metro continues replacing older stock vehicles with new ones. In 2012, Moscow Metro is going to acquire 300 cars of the new 81-760/761-stock series.
