The station was opened as a part of line section between Universitet and Yugo-Zapadnaya.
Station design: three-vaulted shallow column-type station built to a standard project.
The station contains two rows of 40 square columns.

The station features white marble columns, light green walls of glazed tiles and grey granite floor. The lighting is concealed in the embossed ceiling.
