Opening date: 15.05.1944 The station was opened on an acting line section between Baumanskaya and Semyonovskaya stations as a part of the third Moscow metro construction stage.
Station design: three-vaulted pylon-type deep-level station built to the standard design.

The pylons of the station are faced with Prokhoro-Balandinsky marble and decorated with bas-reliefs depicting people’s hard work during the Great Patriotic War (sculptor G.Motovilov). Bronze grilles on the pylons hide the ventilation shafts. The track walls are faced with red Georgian Saliete marble. The vault of the station hall features 6 rows of 318 original inset lamps. The floor is riveted with black and grey granite framed by pinkish-yellow Biyuk-Yankoy marble. The ground-level vestubule represents a hexagonal building with a dome. The exterior has a sculptural group Metro Builders (sculptor M.Manizer). The ticket hall faced with red marble contains medallions with relief portraits of scientists who founded electical engineering: M.Lomonosov, P.Yablochkov, A.Popov, M.Faraday, B.Franklin, V.Gilbert (sculptor G.Motovilov). The station was awarded a State Prize of the USSR in 1946. Exit to: Elektrozavodskaya railway station and Bolshaya Semyonovskaya ulitsa.
