Opening date: 07.11.1958 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Kievskaya and Kutuzovskaya stations.
Station design: overground station with side platforms built of precast concrete to the standard project.

The station was named after Mikhail Kutuzov (1745-1813), who was a Russian field marshal and a hero of the Patriotic War of 1812. The station hall is faced with coloured plastic material and ceramic tiles. The side platforms are protected by canopies. The glazed entrance vestibules at both ends of the station allow passengers to change platforms.
