Opening date: 15.05.1935 The station was opened as a part of the first Moscow metro line section.

The station features square grey marble columns, pink granite floor and pink and grey track walls. The two vestibules designed by S.Andrievsky were opened in 1935, but they no longer exist now. The south vestibule was demolished in 1937 when Sadovoe Koltso was extended. The west vestibule was replaced by a modern one, which was built into a house in 1950.
