Opening date: 05.01.1971 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Prospekt Mira and Kitay-Gorod.

The station was named after Turgenevskaya ploshchad. The station features massive pylons faced with Koyelga marble and light grey granite floor. The vault of the station hall is made of reinforced plastic panels with a rhombic design. The track walls are adorned with embossed brass panels (artists Kh.Rysin, D.Bodniek). A passageway in the centre of the station hall connects the station with Chistye Prudy on the Sokolnicheskaya line. Transfer can also be made through the joint vestibules of the stations.
Exit to: Turgenevskaya ploshchad and Myasnitskaya ulitsa.
