Opening date: 31.12.1966 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Vykhino and Taganskaya.
Station design: three-vaulted pylon-type deep-level station built to the standard project.

The station is named for the nearby square and street. The massive pylons are faced with white marble and decorated with brown marble stripes. The track walls are faced with white and black glazed ceramic tiles and adorned with metal panels with the images of Ikar, a cosmonaut etc. (artist E.Ladygin). The floor is paved with red and grey granite. The west end of the central hall has a passageway to Taganskaya of the Koltsevaya line and the station also links Marksistskaya of the Kalininskaya line.
Exit to: Taganskaya ploshchad and ulitsa Bolshie Kamenshchiki.
