Opening date: 31.12.1966 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Vykhino and Taganskaya.
Station design: three-vaulted column-type shallow station built to the standard project. The station features two rows of 40 columns.

The station is named for the namesake district of Moscow. The flared columns are faced with white marble and have a yellow stripe above, while the floor is reveted with labradorite and grey granite of different shades. The track walls are faced with white and black ceramic tiles and decorated with the images of hammer and sickles made from anodized aluminum. The station has underground vestibules interlinked with subways under Krestyanskaya Zastava square. A passageway from the centre of the station hall to Krestyanskaya Zastava station of the Lyublinskaya line was opened for passengers on July 23, 1997.
