Opening date: 31.12.1966 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Vykhino and Taganskaya.
Station design: three-vaulted column-type shallow station built to the standard project. The station features two rows of 40 columns.
Station architect: L.Shagurina, assisted by M.Korneeva Design engineer: N.Shmitova
The station is named after the namesake district of Moscow. The columns are faced with white marble and the track walls are faced with red and cream-coloured glazed ceramic tiles. The upper part of the track walls is decorated with aluminum bas-reliefs depicting wild animals (artist G.Derviz). The floor is paved with grey and red granite.
Exit to: Volgogradsky prospekt, Zelenodolskaya ulitsa, ulitsa MarshalaChuikova and Zhigulevskaya ulitsa.
