Opening date: 31.12.1966 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Vykhino and Taganskaya.
Station design: overground station of reinforced concrete built to the standard design with side platforms.
Station architects: А.Strelkov, V.Cheryomin Design engineers: L.Sachkova, N.Silina
The station is named for the district where it is located. The overground station has two platforms with two tracks between them. Each of the platforms features one row of columns supporting the roof. The lighting fixtures are located in the lower part of the roof. Vykhino was the first Moscow metro station to represent a transfer complex between the Metro and Suburban railway (Kazan-bound). However this resulted in intensive passenger flow. To ease congestion at this busiest Moscow metro station some trains make no stops there in the mornings, stopping instead of this at a platform away from the metro. The reconstruction of the transfer point at Vykhino is being under way now.
Exit to: ulitsa Khlobystova, ulitsa Krasny Kazanets, Veshnyakovskaya ulitsa.
