The station was opened as a part of a line section from Savelovskaya to Otradnoe.

The station features black marble track walls. The vault of the station hall is divided with partitions adorned with panels depicting the Decembrist revolt of 1825, images of the participants in the Senate square, their wives, Russian philosophers and writers of the 19-th century (artists I. Nikolaev, L,Annenkova). The floor is paved with dark granite.
Way out:
via the north vestibule (opens at 5:35) up the staircase to Severny bulvar, ulitsa Pestelya, ulitsa Bestuzhevykh, ulitsa Dekabristov.
via the south vestibule (opens at 5:35) up the staircase to ulitsa Khachaturyana, ulitsa Otradnaya, ulitsa Sannikova.
