SERPUKHOVSKO-TIMIRYAZEVSKAYA LINE

BOROVITSKAYA
see all stations of this line

Opening date: 23.01.1986
The station was opened as a part of a line section between Serpukhovskaya and Borovitskaya.

Station design: pylon-type three-vaulted deep-level station.

Station architects: L.Popov, V.Volovich
Vestibule architects: L.Popov, V.Volovich, G.Mun
Design engineer: Е.Barsky

The station hall is faced with white and brown marble and red bricks. The white vaults and the red and white pylons remind the Moscow Kremlin. The south end of the station hall is adorned with a panel dedicated to the friendship of Soviet people (artist I.Nikolaev).
The escalators in north end of the central hall link the station with Arbatskaya of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. Two flights of stairs and the escalator in the middle of the hall lead to the underground vestibule decorated with a mosaic portrait of V.Lenin. From this point passengers can transfer to Biblioteka Imeni Lenina station of the Sokolnicheskaya line or to its ground-level vestibule in Mokhovaya street next to the old building of the Russian State Library.

Exit to: Mokhovaya ulitsa and Borovitskaya ploshchad.
