Opening date: 11.08.1969 The station was opened as a part of a line section between Avtozavodskaya and Kakhovskaya.
Station design: pillar-type three-vaulted shallow station made to the standard design. The station features two rows of 40 columns.

The station is named for the nearby Varshavskoe shosse. The vault of the station hall is supported by flared pink marble columns. The track walls are faced with blue ceramic tiles and decorated with black metal images of Warsaw shown in silhouettes (artists Kh.Rysin, A.Lapin’, D.Bodniek). The floor is paved with grey granite.
